HOW TO CUT OUT TOXIC ADDITIVES IN COMMERCIAL BRAND SALAD DRESSINGS

My friends, Peter & Edna Pereira, over at Fit2Touch fitness are knowledgeable nutrition experts and they frequently send me all sorts of great tips for more healthful food choices and this one was a real eye-opener for me. I knew I had to share it with my blog readers so you can all make wiser choices when eating your salads, raw veggies and fruits.

DID YOU KNOW…the salad dressing you buy at your local grocery store may have the heavy metal titanium dioxide in it? Titanium dioxide belongs in your paint and sunscreen NOT in your food!  Food manufacturers add it to salad dressings, creamers and cake icing to make them appear whiter and more visually palatable.  So why not try making your own salad dressing instead and save you and your family from ingesting these nasty toxic ingredients.  It’s so easy and all you need is:

  • Olive oil
  • White wine or apple cider vinegar
  • Mustard
  • Orange Juice
  • Orange rind
  • Herbs for flavor

Just blend or mix to suit your own taste buds. Pour over your favourite salad greens, vegetables or fruits and voila!
